Designed around 1980, during the period of collaboration between Alberto Lievore and Jorge Pensi, the “Lithos” model belongs to the Latina series of furniture and accessories. Its design reflects the renewal that Spanish design underwent at the beginning of that decade, when a new generation of professionals began to combine structural rigor, industrial production, and a careful attention to material expressiveness.

The piece is built around a solid stone base, whose weight ensures the stability of a slender metal structure. Standing out against the lines of the frame are the four brass hangers, which can be adjusted to two positions and feature circular shapes that introduce a warm, geometric counterpoint. The hallmarks of the stone's density, the visual lightness of the metal, and the gold finish transform a functional object into a presence with a distinctly architectural character.

Lievore and Pensi jointly developed various projects after joining the Berenguer Group in Barcelona and continued their collaboration until 1984, when they both embarked on independent careers. This period represents a significant stage in the consolidation of the new Spanish design movement and its subsequent international recognition.
