Willy Rizzo (1928–2013) was a renowned Italian photographer and designer, a leading figure in the Dolce Vita aesthetic. He began his career in Paris as a photographer and started working as a designer in 1966, when he created furniture for his own home in Rome. The success of these pieces among his friends and clients—including personalities such as Salvador Dalí and Brigitte Bardot—led him to found his own firm in 1968.His designs were characterized by a combination of geometric lines, elegance, and fine materials such as travertine, bronze, and steel, blending traditional craftsmanship with modernity. Influenced by figures such as Mies van der Rohe, Le Corbusier, and Ruhlmann, he rejected mass production in favor of meticulously crafted, high-quality pieces. His furniture, associated with the refined luxury of 1960s Italy, has been exhibited at institutions such as the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York.
