Set of five adjustable and extendable ceiling lamps by Lupela, made in Spain during the 1970s. Featuring their original gray finish, they have hemispherical shades with a distinct industrial character and elegant, understated form, suspended by braided cable and an adjustable height mechanism. Three of the lamps have a switch built into the shade. A functional and decorative set, highly representative of Spanish design of the era.
The name LUPELA comes from the initials of LUis PErez LAnzas, the brand’s founder. The company was closely linked to the Pérez de la Oliva family, one of the most important families in the history of Spanish lighting design. Its history is closely tied to FASE, the renowned lighting firm. Following the split among FASE’s partners, Fernando Pérez de la Oliva registered the LUPELA brand and continued to develop his own line of lighting fixtures. The company produced several models originally designed by José Luis Gugel Sancha, including the famous Cobra, Cisne, and Reina, as well as models 225 and 226, which are highly sought after today in the collectors’ market.
