Floor lamp designed in 1964 by Miguel Milá and named in homage to the designer Max Bill, who was a member of the jury that awarded the Delta de Oro prize to the pendant version. This model of lamps was manufactured from 1964 to 1965 by Tramo. From 1965 to 1982, Polinax (a company owned by Miguel Milá’s brother, Leopoldo) took over production.
At a time when no one in Spain knew what it meant to be a designer—even though, as we all know now, every object is designed (whether or not it bears a signature)—Miguel Milá was already one. In other words, he sought to make everyday objects that would make our lives easier and happier, which are the foundations of all innovation. To innovate is to set in motion a chain of imagination and production: to envision new forms and new uses and, through craftsmanship and industry, to bring those visions to fruition by selecting the appropriate materials and techniques. He did this from the very beginning; that is why he is a master. Many of his pieces were destined to become iconic, such as the Cesta (1962), TMM, and TMC (1961) lamps.
