Inspired by Osvaldo Borsani’s design language, this table combines a wide wooden top with an organic profile, with chamfered corners and gently beveled edges, supported by an architectural black-lacquered metal frame, whose triangular supports provide a refined balance between visual lightness and structural solidity.The composition reflects the principles that defined postwar Italian design: functionality, technical innovation, and a careful synthesis of fine materials and engineering. The discreet brass details introduce a subtle chromatic hallmark that enhances the elegance of the piece, while the base, with its taut, geometric lines, reveals a clear influence from the rationalist aesthetic developed in Italy during the 1950s.The simplicity of its forms, combined with the quality of the materials and the excellence of its craftsmanship, make this table a highly versatile piece, capable of blending seamlessly into both modern interiors and curated spaces dedicated to historic European design.
Although not officially attributed to the designer, this table aptly represents the creative spirit of Osvaldo Borsani (Varedo 1911– Milan 1985). Trained from a very young age in the family’s furniture business, Osvaldo Borsani participated in the 5th Milan Triennial in 1933 with the “Casa Mínima” project, which was awarded the silver medal.
