An elegant table lamp crafted by Maison Charles in France around the 1970s, representative of the refined Hollywood Regency style—a trend that reinterpreted classicism through a luxurious and sophisticated aesthetic using gilded metals, sculptural forms, and motifs inspired by nature. The piece features a balanced architectural composition, built around a cubic amber-toned resin base that supports a slender gold-plated metal shaft lavishly decorated with leaves and lemon-shaped fruits—one of the brand’s most characteristic ornamental motifs. The ensemble is completed by a golden metal truncated cone-shaped shade that enhances the warmth of the lighting and reinforces the elegance of its silhouette.
Maison Charles was founded by designers of the caliber of Jacques Charles and Chrystiane Charles. Together, they established Maison Charles as a leading name in the field of industrial design. Their creations are distinguished by neoclassical-inspired elegance, functionality, and understated sophistication. The Charleses have won numerous awards for their designs. Jacques was awarded the Compasso d’Oro in 1989.
