Wall sconce from the 1960s.
Wrought iron. Semi-cylindrical lampshades made of ecru-colored parchment.
In very good condition with minor signs of wear consistent with its age. It retains its patina, with subtle signs of use that attest to its history and lend it authenticity.
Measurements: 103 x 15 x 51 cm.
A unique wall sconce that captures the essence of mid-20th-century handcrafted wrought iron. This piece stands out for its distinctly sculptural character, blending the robustness of dark metal with a subtle organic inspiration, typical of the rustic design trends of the 1960s. The structure is built around a solid central shaft from which four curved arms extend, supporting the light sources in a symmetrical composition. The top finial is particularly striking, featuring a stylized floral motif in iron that adds visual lightness to the piece’s overall boldness. The light sources are veiled by four semi-cylindrical lampshades made of ecru-colored parchment. This material, with its natural texture, provides the perfect counterpoint to the metal. When lit, the parchment acts as an exceptional diffuser, filtering the light to cast an amber glow that creates an intimate and extremely welcoming atmosphere.
