DESCRIPTION
A wardrobe from the 1970s.
Rattan and bamboo.
Measurements: 180 x 72 x 46 cm.
The wardrobe up for auction is an example of the rattan and bamboo furniture that became hugely popular during the 1970s. Its design combines a lightweight bamboo frame with woven rattan panels, resulting in a piece with great visual warmth in which the elegance of the natural materials takes center stage. The two doors feature a refined geometric decoration formed by curved rods that trace symmetrical circular motifs, adding dynamism and a distinct decorative character without sacrificing the simplicity of the lines.
The composition is completed by two spacious lower drawers, seamlessly integrated into the unit and finished with discreet bamboo handles. The combination of woven surfaces, cylindrical profiles, and curved details reflects the organic aesthetic that characterized 1970s interior design, when furniture made from plant fibers became a symbol of a new way of living—one that was more relaxed, luminous, and closely connected to nature.
