Designed by Gregorio Vicente Cortés for H Muebles, the Model 125 sideboard is a magnificent example of modern Spanish design from the 1960s, characterized by clean lines, functionality, and excellent craftsmanship. Crafted from waxed and varnished walnut, it features an elegant horizontal composition with clean lines, enhanced by the distinctive hinged doors with integrated handles and a slender square-section steel tube frame finished in matte black with a baked-on finish, which lends visual lightness and refined hallmarks of materials. Under the technical direction of Gregorio Vicente, H Muebles established itself as one of the most innovative firms on the Spanish scene, furnishing everything from avant-garde homes to public buildings and international pavilions with rationalist-inspired furniture of meticulous craftsmanship.

Trained at the Madrid School of Arts and Crafts after the Civil War, Gregorio Vicente Cortés began his professional career at the prestigious classic furniture firm Herraiz, before joining the Huarte Group, where he played a decisive role in the creation and development of H Muebles, one of the most innovative companies in mid-20th-century Spanish design. As the firm’s technical director from its founding, he led the development of an extensive catalog of modern furniture and numerous interior design projects for public agencies, companies, Spanish pavilions at international exhibitions, and residences of the cultural and business elite, in addition to contributing to furnishing solutions for public housing. Under his leadership, H Muebles established itself as a benchmark for functional and contemporary design in Spain. After the company ceased operations, he founded the d4 studio alongside several members of his former team, where he continued to develop and market a significant portion of the H Muebles catalog until his retirement in 1990, making a decisive contribution to preserving the legacy of one of the most important firms in 20th-century Spanish design.
