This lamp belongs to the more ornamental strand of 1960s Brutalist design, characterized by the expressive use of worked metal and a distinctly sculptural approach to lighting. The iron structure combines curved profiles, volute finials, and perforated and hammered surfaces that envelop the large textured glass globe, whose translucent quality softens the boldness of the metal frame.
