In this piece a meticulous work of carving has been carried out, reaching great perfection both anatomical and expressive. It has been tried to balance the formal beauty, with the expressiveness, the expression of the suffering of Christ, key element of a devotional figure. In addition, care has been taken to the smallest detail, so that the figure reaches a great naturalism. We wanted to capture the moment of Christ's expiration, when he breathes his last breath; hence the elongated arms, as if finally yielding to the weight of the lifeless body.
