Sculpture in the form of a menina that is presented as a contemporary reinterpretation of the famous baroque motif popularized by Velázquez. The figure retains the characteristic silhouette of the menina, with its wide bell-shaped skirt and upright posture, but is dressed in a modern plastic language: bright colors, geometric patterns and abstract motifs that break with the original solemnity.
Narratively, the piece functions as a bridge between past and present, paying homage to the Spanish pictorial tradition while updating it with a playful and expressionistic spirit. The vibrant polychromy and the dynamism of the forms turn the menina into a pop icon, celebrating the history of art but inviting the viewer to rethink it through the lens of diversity and contemporary global culture.
