The sculptor Joan Artigas "Artigasplanas" has always needed to express himself with art: first as a child, inspired by an amateur painter father, with drawing and painting and later by sculpture, when he was already studying at the Faculty of Fine Arts in Barcelona. For many years he has combined teaching art at the School of Art and Design Pau Gargallo with the realization of commissioned sculptures and, from 2004, he began to exhibit in art galleries continuously. Currently, he exhibits regularly in galleries in twelve countries on three continents and participates each year in about 14 international art fairs. He also has public works in Bordeaux, Badalona and Vilassar de Dalt. This sculptor works especially the female figure in bronze, placing it in constructivist iron spaces.

Graduated in Belles Arts (Universitat de Barcelona). Studies of sculpture and mural painting at "La Llotja" (Barcelona). Professor of sculpture at the Escuela Superior de Disseny Pau Gargallo de Badalona, from 1988 to 2020.
