DESCRIPTION

Measurements: 31,5 x 26 x 14 cm.
Marian image of devotion made in the Spain of the XVIII century, carved with head and hands in polychrome wood and conceived with body of frame to be dressed, characteristic typology of the late baroque imagery. The face, with a serene and sweet expression, presents a fine and delicate modeling, with soft incarnations, rosy cheeks and a recollected look, features typical of the sensitivity of the period.
The figure is enriched with textile garments of great ornamental presence, composed of gilded brocade with floral motifs, lace and trimmings, elements that, although showing the natural wear of time.
The mutable character of the dressed figures facilitated the adaptation to different festivities and reinforced popular religiosity, turning them into authentic references of spiritual and cultural identity in Spain in the 18th century.
