This glass sculpture is part of Tomás Saraceno's renowned research on aerial structures, suspended forms and systems inspired by nature. Made of blown glass, the sculpture presents a configuration of interconnected spherical volumes that evoke floating bubbles or cloud formations, generating a perception of lightness and expansion that defies the solidity of the material. The transparency of the glass, along with the subtle variations of light that pass through its surfaces, contributes to an ethereal aesthetic that places the piece on the border between the sculptural and the atmospheric. Aeolus is a title that refers to the god of the wind in classical mythology, and reflects the artist's interest in the invisible systems that govern the environment, such as air currents or ecological dynamics. Saraceno finds his main source of inspiration in natural structures such as spider webs, clouds or cellular formations, transferring these models to an artistic language that combines art, science and architecture. In this sense, his sculptures are not only aesthetic objects, but also conceptual proposals that invite us to rethink the relationship between human beings, space and the environment. The work can be understood as a suspended micro-architecture, where each element depends on a precise balance, alluding to the fragility of ecosystems and the need for sustainable models of coexistence.
Tomás Saraceno has established himself as one of the most relevant figures in international contemporary art. Trained in architecture in Buenos Aires and later at the Städelschule in Frankfurt, his practice is characterized by an interdisciplinary approach that integrates art, science and social research. He has exhibited at leading institutions such as the Museum of Modern Art in New York, the Palais de Tokyo in Paris or the Venice Biennale, and his works are part of prominent international collections. Throughout his career, he has developed emblematic projects such as Cloud Cities or Aerocene, which explore new ways of inhabiting space and interacting with the environment.
