This jug is inspired by the typology of the askos, a vessel of classical origin conceived for pouring liquids, reinterpreted here in a sculptural version. It has a globular body, stylized neck and pouring mouth, while the handle is transformed into a fantastic zoomorphic figure that adds a marked decorative accent.

The surface, enriched by a green patina of irregular shades, reinforces its archaeological character, in dialogue with the incised vegetal motifs that animate the body. The whole reflects the historicist taste of the 19th century, where the evocation of Antiquity is combined with a free and ornamental interpretation.
