"Johnny Weissmuller".
Patinated bronze and marble.
With inscription: "Alumni of the Montparnasse Association".

The piece is situated in the period of Weissmuller's greatest splendor and seems to capture him in a moment of training, suggesting the rhythm and fluidity of swimming. On its veined black base, traversed by undulating letters, the composition evokes the movement of water, inviting the viewer to symbolically join in this movement between waves.
Jacques Limousin was a French sculptor and medalist who specialized in the creation of bronzes and commemorative medals, particularly on sports and historical themes. Johnny Weissmuller (1904-1984), on the other hand, was a famous American swimmer and actor, a leading figure in the Olympic Games of the 1920s, where he won multiple gold medals and broke numerous world records, before becoming a film icon thanks to his role as Tarzan. Limousin dedicated several works to his figure, integrating him into commemorative pieces celebrating his sporting achievements.
