DESCRIPTION
YVES LOHÉ (France, 1947).
"Penguins".
Vitreous paste and bronze.
Signed.
It presents craquelados.
Measurements: 35 x 25 x 12 cm.
Lohé creates in this work a couple of penguins of marked ornamental presence. The work combines a metallic structure of sinuous contours with applications of polychrome vitreous paste, whose red, green, blue and amber tones provide depth and light vibration.
The figures are resolved by stylized volumes and polished surfaces, where the bronze acts as an enveloping line and the vitreous paste as the expressive core. The result is a dynamic and decorative composition, in which the animal image is transformed into a play of transparencies, reflections and textures.
Yves Lohé is a contemporary French sculptor born in 1947, known for his works in bronze and vitreous paste. After starting his career in wrought iron, in the late seventies he turned his work towards bronze, developing a language focused on music, dance, the human figure and animals. His compositions with colored glass reflect his interest in light, movement and ornamental expressiveness.
