In "Tenderness" Émile Just Bachelet reflects the delicacy and sensitivity in the representation of emotions through matter. Through soft volumes and refined lines, Bachelet manages to convey a sense of intimacy and harmony characteristic of his sculptural production.
Émile Just Bachelet studied at the Écoles des Beaux-Arts in Nancy and Paris, where he developed a solid academic foundation in drawing and sculpture. From 1920 he began to exhibit regularly at the Salon des Artistes Français, quickly consolidating his prestige thanks to public and monumental commissions. His career was closely linked to the great international exhibitions of the first half of the twentieth century, for which he made reliefs and sculptural decorations, highlighting his participation in the International Exhibition of Decorative Arts of 1925. His work ranges from monumental sculpture to delicate decorative pieces in ivory, with special interest in representations of birds, animals and nudes. He also collaborated with key figures of modern French architecture and design, such as Jean Prouvé and Jacques Gruber, integrating his work in important architectural and decorative projects of the time.
