BID HISTORY

DESCRIPTION

SALVADOR MOLLÁ SORIANO (Spain, 1960).
Untitled.
Metal, iron and ceramic.
Signed on the base.
Measurements: 154 x 54 x 46 cm.
Salvador Mollá Soriano presents in this sculpture a work of totemic character, built from the combination of metal, iron and ceramic in a vertical composition of great visual intensity and structural balance, the piece is organized around a central ceramic core of copper tones and glossy finish, whose irregular texture and organic modeling contrasts with the geometric rigidity of the metal structure that surrounds it. The rusted iron frame, open and fragmented, generates a sensation of protection and tension at the same time, as if the central material were contained within an industrial architecture in permanent transformation. The use of rusted iron provides a strong material-expressive charge, characteristic of Mollá Soriano's sculptural language, where wear, corrosion and the imprint of time become essential aesthetic elements. To this is added the presence of rods and metallic planes assembled in a dynamic way, creating games of emptiness and volume that enrich the spatial perception of the work.
In Salvador's work, materials are often the protagonists and motors of the creative process. Salvador Moya has an extensive artistic career that is expressed in various disciplines: drawing, painting, sculpture with different materials and treatments, although he mainly works with ceramics, a material with which he has had a great professional projection, applied in architecture and decoration. It is also common in his work the use of iron, steel, glass, wood, etc. in any of his creations, providing an interesting contrast to his work, and distinguished by the recovery of materials or the conversion of furniture.
