In "Cercles par déplacement," Julio Le Parc combines circles, reflections, and overlays to create a shifting image that depends on the viewer’s position and the angle of the light. The mirror visually expands the composition and accentuates the sense of movement, drawing the viewer into the experience of the work. The piece synthesizes the artist’s explorations of perception, visual instability, and the active participation of the audience.

A key figure in kinetic art, Julio Le Parc studied at the Prilidiano Pueyrredón School of Fine Arts in Buenos Aires and moved to Paris in 1958. There, he co-founded the Groupe de Recherche d’Art Visuel, through which he explored the effects of light, movement, and viewer participation. In 1966, he received the International Grand Prize for Painting at the Venice Biennale. His work is included in collections such as the Tate, the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden, and the National Museum of Fine Arts in Buenos Aires.
