In *Sacred of Devotion*, Natalia Mc Donald brings to the field of ceramics an exploration situated between sculpture and painting, transforming the surface of the form into a true pictorial medium. The piece combines the closed, rounded form of the vessel with a frontal face of great presence, set within a broad oval area and rendered in a warm palette of oranges, pinks, and reds.

The hallmarks of the light surface, dotted with small blue brushstrokes, and the chromatic intensity of the face draw the viewer’s gaze to the expression. The eyes, which are particularly emphasized, take on an almost hypnotic quality and reinforce the symbolic dimension suggested by the title. The manual application of oil paint onto glazed ceramic allows the artist to introduce nuances typical of painting into a three-dimensional piece, underscoring the work’s unique character.

Natalia Mc Donald focuses her work on majolica ceramics and ceramic glazes, creating unique pieces in which she combines figurative and abstract elements, with a particular focus on exploring the relationship between form, texture, and expression. She has participated in exhibitions in Málaga and various towns in the Axarquía region.
