Beat Streuli's photographic language oscillates between urban life and the human figure in public space. His work focuses on capturing the aesthetics of the everyday and the anonymity of the metropolis. Through photography and video, Streuli documents people passing through streets, squares and train stations in major cities around the world, such as New York, Zurich, Tokyo or Brussels. His portraits do not seek the identity of the subject, but make him or her an archetype of modern urban life.

He has recently had solo exhibitions at the Jochen Hempel Gallery in Leipzing and at the Contemporary Art Center in Tbilisi, both in 2023. He has also shown his work in Chiasso, Hamburg, Brussels, Vienna, Taipei, Rouen, etc. The artist's work is part of prominent public and private collections internationally, including institutions such as Die Mobiliar (Bern), Sammlung Ricola (Laufen), The Israel Museum (Jerusalem), Kunstmuseum (Wolfsburg), Royal Museum of Fine Arts of Belgium (Brussels), Fotomuseum (Winterthur), and the Museum of Modern Art (San Francisco). He can also be found in important museums in the United States, such as the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum (New York), the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden (Washington D.C.), the Museum of Contemporary Art and LACMA (both in Los Angeles). In Europe, his work is part of collections at the Kunstmuseum Ehrenhof (Düsseldorf), Fondation Cartier pour l'art contemporain (Paris), Stedelijk Museum (Amsterdam), Deutsche Bank (Frankfurt), Centro Galego de Arte Contemporánea (Santiago de Compostela), Galleria d'Arte Moderna (Turin), MACBA (Barcelona), Museum für Moderne Kunst (Frankfurt), Kunsthaus Zürich (Zurich), and the Centre Georges Pompidou (Paris). His work is also in corporate collections such as UBS (Zurich), Credit Suisse (Zurich), and SwissRe (Tokyo and New York), as well as in other institutions such as the Kunstmuseum Luzern (Lucerne), Kunstmuseum Sankt Gallen (St. Gallen), Musée d'Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris/ARC (Paris), Bundesamt für Kultur (Bern), and the FRAC Pays de la Loire (Nantes).
