Alicia Moneca (Madrid, c. 1970s) is a multidisciplinary artist whose work moves between painting, photography and philosophical thought, configuring a deeply reflective artistic universe. Born and based in Madrid, she began her training in Biological Sciences at the Complutense University, an unusual starting point that would mark her analytical approach to the image. Her first professional stage was linked to the field of architecture, collaborating with studies in the pictorial interpretation of urban projects, an experience that left a decisive mark on her way of composing, where structure, space and the relationship between light and shadow acquire an essential role.
His artistic practice began in oil painting, later incorporating photography, initially focused on black and white analog portraiture. Over time, he evolved towards serial projects, both in painting and photography, in which he explores issues related to identity, the human and the collective dimension of the individual. Her visual language, influenced by architecture, is characterized by compositions that integrate multiple images as a matrix, condensing time and space into a single scene, often accompanied by audiovisual pieces that the artist herself calls "videObras".
