DESCRIPTION

Set of badges and medals of the Spanish Army of the Armored Unit.
Metal, enamel and fabric medals.
Encapsulated.
Measurements: between 7 and 3 cm.

The set is composed of various military insignia, badges and decorations, which by their iconography -centered repeatedly in the representation of tanks-, typology and chromatism, can be linked in a coherent way to the armored weapon of the Spanish Army. The presence of metal and textile emblems with battle tanks, as well as specialty badges and a decoration, allows us to interpret the set as an organic lot, probably assembled along the same military trajectory.

Some elements, such as the metallic shield with a battle tank and a cartouche identifying the destination, reinforce the hypothesis of an ascription to armored units active in the second half of the 20th century, in a context compatible with the Armored Division, without implying a closed documentary attribution. As a whole, the pieces offer a representative vision of the symbolic and distinctive universe of the Spanish armored forces, combining regulatory elements, unit badges and decorations for personal use.

Enameled cross badge with royal crown, Spain, ca. 1940-1960.
Gilt metal and white/blue enamels. Royal crown and suspension ring. Badge of honorary character, for use in gala uniforms or official acts.

2. Radiate order or merit badge with central medallion, Spain or Europe, ca. 1930-1950.
Eight-pointed star-shaped badge in two-tone metal, with enameled central medallion and circular inscription; superior grade typology.

3. Metal shield with chariot and initials, with cartouche "Spain - Mª Burgos", Spain, ca. 1940-1960.
Patinated metal shield with battle chariot in relief. The "Mª Burgos" cartouche points to destination/unit identification; piece of strong "armored" reading.

4. Embroidered textile patch with battle tank, Spain, ca. 1940-1960.
Red cloth with metallic thread embroidery depicting battle tank. Armored unit uniform badge, with wear from use.

5. Oval metal badge with tank on red background, Spain, ca. 1940-1950.
Oval badge with battle tank in relief and red enamel background; weapon/specialty badge or commemorative emblem.

6. Set of metal emblems (stars, crossed arms and specialty badges), Spain, ca. 1940-1960.
Group of small regulation or specialty insignia: stars and crossed arms, intended for uniform.

7. Medal with tricolor ribbon and pin, Spain, ca. 1940-1950.
Circular patinated metal medal with tricolor ribbon and upper pin; merit/campaign decoration, compatible with a lot of military origin.
