Ramón Lázaro de Dou y de Bassols (Barcelona, 1742 - Cervera, 1832), was a provincial deputy for Catalonia in the Cortes de Cádiz, of which he was elected first president during the inaugural session held on the Island of León on September 24, 1810, obtaining fifty votes to the forty-five of Benito Ramón Hermida Maldonado, the provisional president. In 1813 he also served as deputy of the clergy of the province of Tarragona. He was ordained a priest and published several works, among them the most interesting "Instituciones del derecho público de España", with news of the particular of Catalonia and the main rules of government in any state.
