The magazine "Le Rire" (La Risa) was one of the most important and emblematic illustrated periodicals of the French Belle Époque. It was published from 1894 to 1971, although its heyday was from its foundation until the First World War. Its content was predominantly satirical and humorous, addressing the political, social and cultural current affairs of the time.
