With a dazzling color cover that evokes the goddess in charge of crowning the champions, this exceptional work -presented in French and Greek- stands as a fundamental testimony of the Olympic memory. Divided into two parts (101 and 109 pages), the first, signed by Lambros and Politis, reconstructs with rigor and visual richness the great epic of the ancient games through 39 engravings; the second transports us to the renaissance of the Olympic Games, with a valuable seven-page introduction by Baron de Coubertin, followed by vibrant texts by Timoléon Philémon, Politis and Annios. Its 60 engravings endow the whole with a unique evocative force, turning this monumental work into an immersive experience that allows us to relive, with intensity and emotion, the first ten days of the modern Olympic Games through the privileged eyes of its protagonists.
