BID HISTORY
DESCRIPTION
Noucentista writing desk; ca. 1915.
Bank wood, brass and glass.
Measurements: 160 x 110 x 70 (open); 160 x 110 x 50 cm (closed).
Writing desk made of riparian wood and structured in two bodies. The lower one is based on a table that rests on four legs, being the two rear ones joined by a chambrana and the front ones designed with a greater complexity. Thus we see the top of the foot slightly warped outward and ornaments in the area that joins the foot with the leg as carving and brass filleting. The table has two drawers and a section joined by hinges that allow the tabletop to be extended and converted into a desk. The upper zone is structured in two bodies, a lower one with three drawers and the upper one divided into three sections with a door on each side and a mirror in the center. Finally, the piece ends with a profusely ornamented cornice.
