With a striking sculptural presence, the table is constructed as a rectangular frame supported by four winged felines—figures of classical origin that are particularly characteristic of the Empire style’s ornamental repertoire. The rigorous symmetry of the piece and the axial arrangement of the curved crossbars and the central element reinforce its architectural and ceremonial character.

The gilded metal, the geometric austerity of the structure, and the incorporation of zoomorphic supports evoke the ceremonial furniture developed during the Napoleonic period, characterized by a solemn reinterpretation of ancient models. Designed to accommodate a glass or stone top, the base takes on a distinctly theatrical and monumental quality.
