DESCRIPTION
Modernist lamp, ca. 1900.
American glass and bronze lampshade.
Lamp of marked modernist language, with a sculptural shaft that adopts the figure of a crane, a bird that in that period symbolized the stylized nature and purity of form, especially in sculpture and design. The piece ends in a domed lampshade decorated with vegetal motifs and made of American glass with a marbled appearance. Overall, the lamp stands out for its elegant and fluid lines, with soft curves, and for its pronounced organic character, fully in keeping with modernist aesthetics.
