DESCRIPTION
English sideboard. Victorian era, XIX century.
Mahogany wood.
It has a key to the lower body but not to the upper drawers.
Exhibits wear consistent with age and use.
Measurements: 200 x 146 x 50 cm.
English Victorian sideboard, made of mahogany wood, with a two-part structure. The lower part is organized by two drawers and two paneled doors, while the upper body presents open shelves flanked by carved lateral supports of great ornamental development.
The piece stands out for the decorative richness of its upper finish, presided over by a carved vase with flowers and surrounded by scrolls, vegetal motifs and scrolls, characteristic resources of Victorian historicist taste. Also of special interest are the lateral supports, conceived as large corbels in the form of a scroll, with vegetal carvings and sinuous profiles that provide movement and monumentality to the whole.
