DESCRIPTION
Powder compact; France, XIX century.
Mother-of-pearl, silver and velvet.
It has slight flaws.
Measurements: 2 x 10,5 x 9 cm.
Powder compact made of silver that presents a cover adorned with a carved mother-of-pearl plate. In this area, where most of the ornamentation is found, the artisan has recreated a scene of courtly character. The scene depicts two women in the center of the composition inscribed in a profuse landscape dominated by vegetation and architecture. The delicacy and detail of the carving define the quality of the compact.
