19th century technical and mathematical drawing cases. They are testimony to the importance of precision in engineering, architecture and cartography of the period. The case with the red inner lining contains a varied set of drawing instruments: a pocket compass, several drawing lines, auxiliary points or extensions for compasses, and a small wooden square. The other case contains a large main compass, and a leg for attaching a drawing pencil, as well as a porcelain saucer, used for mixing or diluting ink. Completing the collection is a brass dry-point compass with steel points and two additional drawing compasses of different designs, one of them with screw adjustment.
