Persian candlestick made of metal with incised decoration and gold inlay, characteristic of the artistic production of the Qajar period.

The surface is richly ornamented with vegetal and geometric motifs, organized in registers, generating an attractive contrast with the dark background. This type of decoration responds to the refined taste of the Persian court of the 19th century, which combined Islamic tradition with a remarkable ornamental sense.

A representative example of the Iranian decorative arts of the Qajar period, these pieces were destined for interiors of a certain rank, and are appreciated today for their quality and aesthetic richness.
