AMALIA AVIA (Santa Cruz de la Zarza, Toledo, 1930 - Madrid, 2011).
"Train scene" and "The serene".
Etching on paper. Exemplary 44/75 and 12/75.
Signed and justified in pencil.

Amalia Avia began her artistic career in the fifties in Madrid, training at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts of San Fernando, where she established relationships with prominent artists of her generation. She made her individual debut in 1959 and participated in important galleries such as Fernando Fe, Juan Mordó and Biosca. Her work, focused on the city of Madrid, reflects an intimate and subjective realism, far from technical hyperrealism, with special attention to deteriorated urban spaces and, later, to interiors. She was awarded the Goya de la Villa de Madrid prize in 1978 and exhibited both in Spain and internationally. Her work is present in numerous public and private, national and international collections.
