Composition of great gestural vitality where Miró displays his characteristic universe of signs, figures and chromatic splashes on an open background. The image is constructed from a free and enveloping black line, combined with color projections that intensify the dynamism and reinforce its playful and poetic dimension.

The apparent spontaneity of the gesture responds to a very conscious construction of the balance between form, sign and color, key in his graphic production of the seventies.

Joan Miró was trained in Barcelona and made his debut in 1918 at the Dalmau Galleries. In 1920 he moved to Paris, where he came into contact with the avant-garde and developed his own language influenced by surrealism. His international recognition was soon consolidated: in 1928 the MoMA acquired his works and in 1941 dedicated a great retrospective to him.

Throughout his career he received important distinctions and his work was widely disseminated in Europe and the United States. He is currently represented in institutions such as the Joan Miró Foundation (Barcelona), the MoMA (New York), the Reina Sofía Museum (Madrid), the National Gallery of Art (Washington) and the Centre Pompidou (Paris), among others.
