DESCRIPTION

MICHELANGELO BUONARROTI (Caprese, 1475 - Rome, 1564).
"The hands of Adam's creation", 2015.
Unique limited and numbered edition of 998 copies.
Attached bronze sculpture with numbered marble base and study book.
The sculpture shows a phrase by Michelangelo and his signature.
Publisher: Planeta.
Measurements: 29 x 33 x 10 cm (sculpture); 28,5 x 38 x 2,5 cm (book).
In commemoration of the V Centenary of the inauguration of the Sistine Chapel, a unique work was created, limited and numbered in five series of 998 copies. A sculptural work inspired by The Creation of Adam. The sculpture is made in lost wax bronze. The two hands, God's and Adam's, emerge from an arch engraved with the signature and a phrase of the brilliant Florentine artist. The sculpture is attached to a travertine marble base and numbered by hand. The entirely handmade process is repeated with each of the sculptures, making each piece a unique work of art, as certified by the notarial deed.
Also accompanying this work is a large-format volume that invites us to discover the work of the great Renaissance artist, emphasizing the four arts in which he excelled: poetry, painting, architecture and sculpture. This unique book, considered a jewel in its own right, includes studies by specialists in his work, which will help us to understand Michelangelo's legacy and what the creation of the Sistine Chapel meant to the artist.
All the details of this unique work have been taken care of to the utmost, as evidenced by the case in which the sculpture and the Michelangelo volume are presented. Its elegant yet practical design serves to protect and store this exclusive work of art.
