This edition of "Michelangelo. Drawings" brings together a selection of 75 works from the British Museum's collection, considered the world's most important collection of drawings by the artist. It includes anatomical studies, preparatory sketches and compositions that cover his entire career, from his youth to his last years.
The set allows us to understand the fundamental role of drawing in Michelangelo's work, showing his obsession with the study of the human body, proportion and three-dimensionality. The complementary study book incorporates essays by specialists from the British Museum and the National Gallery in London, who analyze both the technique and the artistic context of the master.
The presence of the sculptural case inspired by the David, together with the careful handcrafted production and the limited print run, make this edition a collector's item, conceived as a work that unites book, sculpture and artistic document in a single piece.
