DESCRIPTION
"Jeux Olympiques Paris 1924".
Lithograph.
Measurements: 100,5 x 79 cm.
The Art Deco lithographic poster in bidding is important both historically, artistically and culturally as it represents a key moment for both modern Olympism and 20th century graphic design. The design of this poster was created by the French artist Detti.
The Paris 1924 Olympic Games (city represented in the last shot) were fundamental to consolidate the modern model of the Olympics, as they were the last ones organized under the presidency of Pierre de Coubertin, founder of modern Olympism, introduced a more professional organization with greater media projection, brought together more countries and athletes than ever before, and later inspired the film Chariots of Fire; in addition, this poster contributed to build the international visual identity of the event.
