In It's Not Funny, Not Banksy resorts to parody to question the mechanisms of authorship and the circulation of images in urban art. The central figure, with a hybrid appearance between street character, doll and grotesque creature, holds a sign with the phrase "It's Not Funny", a statement that reinforces precisely the ironic tone of the work.

The image combines stencil aesthetics, acid humor and references to Banksy's visual imagery, but shifted towards an openly satirical reading. The stamp "NOT ART / NOT BANKSY" and the text "The New NOT BANKSY Realisation" insist on this deliberate ambiguity between homage, copy and denial, turning the piece into a reflection on the value of the name and authenticity.

Not Banksy is a graphic and satirical project linked to L-13 Light Industrial Workshop, a London space dedicated to publishing, graphics and counterculture. Initiated in 2007 by STOT21stCplanB, the project is articulated from the appropriation, parody and criticism of the art system.
