Muñoz trained at the San Fernando Academy and, after early contact with the Madrid Realists, evolved toward Informalism after studying in Paris. His style, marked by a material and expressionist approach to painting, is characterized by direct interventions on the support and a lyrical approach. Throughout his career, he exhibited internationally, and his work transitioned from an experimental and coloristic phase to a more subdued and monochromatic one. From the late 1960s onward, he adopted a more fantastical tone, and after 1981, his artistic language became flatter and lighter.
