Original Spanish release poster for *Una llamada a las doce* (*Return from the Ashes*, 1965), designed by MAC, one of the most prominent poster artists in Spanish cinema during the second half of the 20th century. The film, directed by J. Lee Thompson, stars Ingrid Thulin, Maximilian Schell, and Samantha Eggar, and falls within the psychological drama genre with elements of suspense. Based on the novel of the same name by Hubert Monteilhet, the story follows a female doctor who survived a Nazi concentration camp and, after World War II, tries to rebuild her life while becoming entangled in a complex web of deceit, ambition, and revenge.
Although it did not win any major international awards, it was recognized for the dramatic power of its cast and the quality of its direction. This poster, created for its 1966 release in Spain, is an interesting example of film poster design from that era.
