This set comprises the first two volumes of the Antoni Tàpies catalog raisonné, covering his work from 1943 to 1968. The publication, produced in collaboration with the Fundació Antoni Tàpies, Galerie Lelong, and Éditions Cercle d’Art, constitutes an essential bibliographic reference for the study, identification, and cataloging of the artist’s work.

These volumes cover decisive stages in the consolidation of Tàpies’s artistic language: from the early works of the 1940s, linked to the Dau al Set movement and postwar experimentation, to the material maturity of the 1950s and 1960s, marked by the use of sand, incisions, signs, crosses, graphic elements, and dense surfaces rich in symbolism.

Antoni Tàpies was one of the leading figures of European Informalism and of Spanish art in the second half of the 20th century. His work is represented in institutions such as the Fundació Antoni Tàpies in Barcelona, MACBA, the Reina Sofía Museum in Madrid, MoMA in New York, the Tate in London, and the Centre Pompidou in Paris.
