The composition is dominated by a large black biomorphic figure, enlivened by patches of red, blue, and green, against a background streaked with gray and pink spots. The curved lines, splashes, and small floating marks create a dynamic image, situated between an animal-like evocation and Miró’s characteristic cosmic universe.

Joan Miró was one of the leading figures in 20th-century art. Associated with Surrealism since the 1920s, he created his own artistic language based on symbols, constellations, organic forms, and poetic rhythms. His work is represented in institutions such as the Fundació Joan Miró in Barcelona, MoMA in New York, the Centre Pompidou in Paris, and the Tate in London.
