Third volume of the catalog raisonné of Pierre Soulages’s paintings, compiled by art historian and critic Pierre Encrevé. The publication examines the paintings created between 1979 and 1997, a period that began with the development of Outrenoir, an exploration based on the capacity of black surfaces to receive, reflect, and transform light.

Richly illustrated, the volume reproduces and documents the works along with their technical details, provenance, exhibitions, and bibliographic references. It also includes additions and corrections related to the catalog. Due to its scientific and documentary rigor, it constitutes an essential reference for the study, cataloging, and authentication of Soulages’s paintings. The Bibliothèque nationale de France lists it as a catalog raisonné, published by Seuil in Paris in 1998.
