A set of eight drypoint engravings depicting various scenes of everyday life. A painter, printmaker, and writer of the Generation of ’98, and brother of Pío Baroja, he was self-taught. In 1895, he participated for the first time in the National Exhibition of Fine Arts, where he won awards in 1906 (second medal) and 1908 (first medal). He took a particular interest in printmaking, eventually coming to be regarded as the greatest Spanish master in that field after Goya. A friend of Picasso’s, he co-founded the magazine *Arte Joven* with him. In 1927, he began teaching at the National School of Fine Arts, and after the Civil War, he continued to hold exhibitions in San Sebastián, Bilbao, and Madrid, achieving great commercial success. His works are represented in the Provincial Museum of Lugo, the Fine Arts Museums of Bilbao and Álava, and the San Telmo Museum in San Sebastián, among others.
