DESCRIPTION
The genus Ichthyodectes belongs to the Cretaceous group of large predatory fishes and was closely related to marine giants such as Xiphactinus. These fish were fast hunters of ancient seas, perfectly adapted to capture smaller prey thanks to their hydrodynamic anatomy and specialized dentition. The Goulmima sites have been protected for years and the extraction of pieces of this category is extremely limited today, which makes these specimens difficult to find in today's market.
