The work is part of the devotional tradition of Sevillian painting from the last third of the 17th century and depicts one of the essential iconographies of Dominican spirituality: the presentation of the rosary to Saint Dominic of Guzmán and Saint Catherine of Siena. The symmetrical composition, narrative clarity, and solemn appearance of the Virgin reflect an image conceived to immediately convey its doctrinal significance.

The Virgin occupies the central axis, enthroned on a cloud supported by cherubs. The crown of stars and the crescent moon allude to apocalyptic and Immaculate Conception iconography, while the rosary extended toward Saint Dominic identifies the principal devotion. Saint Catherine bears the crown of thorns, the cross, and the heart—elements related to her mystical experience and her special connection to the Passion of Christ.

The composition retains the scenographic style characteristic of Sevillian Baroque: the figures on the sides gesture toward the center, their habits form broad masses of color, and the celestial apparition rises above a deliberately sober background.

The 18th-century Spanish frame, carved and gilded, features an openwork finial with undulating profiles, leaves, and rocaille motifs. Its rich ornamentation extends the altarpiece-like effect of the painting and reinforces the ceremonial character of the ensemble.
