Rafael Forns began his training in the field of medicine and pedagogy, however his passion for painting began to become his profession in 1913. He settled in Madrid, where he participated in numerous gatherings with artists of the time such as the painters Sorolla, Cecilio Pla and Anglada Camarasa. His painting, as can be seen in this picture, is characterized by an impressionist style. He was a painter specialized in landscape and the effect of light on it. In 1917 he became president of painting at the Círculo de Bellas Artes in Madrid, and in 1918 he inaugurated his first individual exhibition simultaneously in Barcelona and Valencia. Subsequently he continued to carry out both group and individual exhibitions, among them he participated in group exhibitions in London, Paris and Venice, and in 1929 he was awarded the third medal for painting at the Universal Exposition in Barcelona. Today his work is divided between private and public collections such as those of the Museum of Castellón.
